The Chairperson welcomed the initiative of the Foundation, launched with Sovereign Carbon Agency Djibouti two years ago, and underlined its potential to serve as a model for other African countries.

This meeting was a fitting conclusion to the Summit that closed with a united call for climate justice, and efficient financing solutions.
President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh made a strong plea for a “𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐦 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭,” sharing the success of his country’s Sovereign Carbon Initiative launched two years ago which already financed over 50 programs.

He invited all African nations to draw inspiration from this model.
