During the Summit, the Minister of Environment of Mauritania met with her Djiboutian counterpart, H.E. Mohamed Abdoulkader Moussa Helem, and Africa Sovereign Carbon Registry Foundation, to discuss the role of Sovereign Carbon Initiatives in unlocking new flows of climate finance while preserving national ownership.

This meeting emphasized a shared vision. Sovereign Carbon initiatives already exist and provide Africa with a continental opportunity to advance African-led solutions for climate action. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, drawing on the experience of Sovereign Carbon Agency 𝐃𝐣𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢, which already has two years of track record. Sovereign carbon initiatives demonstrate their capacity to channel contributions directly into sustainable projects.

Africa Sovereign Carbon Registry Foundation accompanies African nations in developing harmonized, transparent, and compliant sovereign carbon initiatives that directly benefit their people and strengthen the continent’s climate leadership, respecting international norms.
